Hey Everybody! 1st post but I've been around for awhile, eversince I met my wife who owns the Protege. Anyways the other day I was checking an off idle studder, stall thing. The car is in park, in the driveway and I'm just kind of stabbing the throttle to see how it's reacting after cleaing the throttle body, (left it on the car just removed the intake hose and cleaned with toothbrush and cleaner). I stabbed the throttle and it stalled. Tried to fire it back up and no luck. I checked the spark and nothing all the way back to the coil to cap wire. It ohms at about 7kOhms and tried another wire no luck. I put in another igniter, No go. Ohmd the coil, appears within specs according to the manual. Both the Igniter and coil have 12v's where there supposed to. Anyway to check the distributor? Am I missing anything? Or am I left with R&Ring the distributor or PCM or tring another coil. Help[&o]

 

May sound like a dumb question but is the distributor rotor turning?

 

No, good question. I did check that out also, and it is turning. I've got another coil, distributer and ECU on the way to check those out, we'll see.
