Hi, when I turn on the headlights on my 94 protege the right rear tail light goes on too which is good. The brake light also goes on and stays on which is bad... Anyone know how to fix that?

 

Has a rear brake light been replaced recently tarastac. Most common problem for what you describe is a single element 1156 bulb being installed in place of a dual element 1157. Get back to there to both brake lights and remove the bulbs one at a time and see if after removing one of the bulbs all is back to normal. If this happens then go to the parts store and ask for a couple of 1157 bulbs and since you are right there then might as well replace both of them.

 

Thanks. The right bulb still didn't work so I unpluged the harness to the lights, plugged it back in and voila. It worked.
