Default RE: 92 protege stereo help

Power of your stereo should not have any effect on tail fuse blowing.
In the factory wire harness for the original radio there is a wire that is Red with a Black stripe. What is this wire hooked to now or is it shorting to something metal behind the radio. This wire was used to supply voltage to the OE radio when the lights were turned on so that the radio would light up also. Only thing I can think of that would case that particular fuse to keep blowing although it should not have any effect with key but instead should blow only when the headlight switch is turned on to light the running lights??
