A couple of weeks ago a deer hit the front of my car and shoved the fan into the radiator and did alot of damage to the hood it also broke the shifter cable. i have full coverage on the car and all i paid was a 100$ deductible. when i got my darling car back. i was so happy!! it runs great and thework done to it was just awesome (by the repairer). Anyways i was driving it home and i tried to shift into manual mode but the indicator doesn't even show that i'm in it theres no display on my gearshift indicator and it feels to tight to shift up or down so i'm just driving in normal drive for now. It really bothers me that i can't really find any information on what the problem could be! The car is a 2003 protege es automatic and i really love it! Please help me!! Could it be the shift cable or something electrical or something over looked? oh and one more thing the shift override button beside the shifter is no longer there could that be the cause of the problem
