hi, so i have a 2002 protege with 116000 miles on it. i just recently had to but a new catalytic converter in after the check engine light came on. now it started ticking the other day. in seems to start ticking at a certain rpm and continues until i let off the gas. sometimes it seems if i slowly accelerate it doesn't tick as much. about a day after first hearing this the check engine light came on after it started to tick. I put gas in it and the light went off, but again not to much longer after the ticking noise started the light came back on. any input would be greatly appreciated. i am going to take it in to see what the code is for the light, but not for a few days.
