Hello All. I'm new to the Mazda ownership family so I thought I'd swing by here and see what I could find on my new/used purchase. I guess my question to everyone is, what common issues should I be looking for with my 2001 Protege ES? I really rolled the dice on this purchase and I need it to work out for me. I'd just like to head off any issues before the car get's sidelined. I see no leaks really to speak of and the A/C kicks pretty well.Seems to have some pep in the enginestill. It does seem to have some kinda of vibrations at highway speeds. My thought is that it could be the low profile tires the previous owner put on it. It does have a significant amount of rust (looks to be surface, no holes) on the A pillars and top edge of the windshield. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It's a manual transmission.
