Default 2001 Protege 2.0L idle problem

Hey guys! My 2001 Protege ES 2.0L tends to stay on "fast idle" longer than most cars do. My friend has a 2000 Escort ZX2 and his takes nowheres near as long as mine does and he has the same motor. By the way, this is in cold climates but still! It shouldn't take this long should it? I can't really give you a specific amount of time, but it is deffinitly longer than most other cars. Any ideas of what the problem might be? It's at the shop right now, and the mechanic said that the thermostat and the rest of the coolant system was fine. Any input would be appreciated guys!!

I see . Heated Oxygen Sensor /front/ can screw up idle . Because a car from 2001 probably has a good Idle Control valve . Better to change both at once /and rear too/
I did it and all PO421 and similar Codes gone . Regards

Much appreciated JS! How much would they cost (roughly) in CAD, or even USD?
