Hello!

I recently bought a Protege with 158km on it so by my standards it’s relatively low in kms to have transmission issues. I’ve run into an intermittent issue where on cold start the car just seems to stay in 3rd. Sometimes turning it off and on or cycling the shifter down to 1st and back to drive seems to usually fix the issue and it’ll run fine till it’s cold again. The only other rare issue is sometimes it seems to shift late but that doesn’t happen much.

I get no CEL or any pending codes on my reader that could explain it so I’m at a bit of a loss. Fluid was low when I originally bought it so I filled it but that hasn’t fixed it. Transmission doesn’t grind at all and shifts good when it decides it is feeling like it.

Any input would be appreciated because this is driving me nuts. Thanks.
