10-20 minutes driving engine starts hesitation, power loss, bucking while accelerating

10-20 minutes driving engine starts hesitation, power loss, bucking while accelerating
year 2002 2.0 engine
just had the 60k major service performed per user manual
also had timing belt changed, I drive the car hard
also an oxgen sensor was replaced, it was tossing a CEL
The engine temperature is normal and not over heating.
No check engine light
no error codes on diagnostic hand held device
installed second set of new spark plugs
disconnected idle controller no change
tried computer reset by disconnecting battery
no difference if head lights, ac, interior fan, or stereo on or off
problems started approx after 1 month of daily driving after the 60k service
symptoms
after driving the car for 10-20 minutes, the engine will have problems accelerating. If I keep my foot 100% on the gas pedal, it will accelerate slowly and then after a few 100 to 1000 rpms, the engine power will surge back and then accelerate normal. NOTE: If I keep my foot lightly applied to the gas pedal, the car seems to be ok. Also the engine appears to be ok for a little, if I turn off the ignition and restart the car. I need to test drive the car more and try this right when the problem happens to see if this is true
reading other posts, I see suggestions for possible fixes
replace coil packs?
replace fuel filter? I believe my filter is ok, otherwise the problem would start immediately after starting the car, but i could be wrong.
clean throttle body? same thoughts as fuel filter.
map sensor?
vacum leak?
Thoughts on the above and why there is engine performance problems after 10-20 minutes of driving?
Thank in advance for your help.

Thanks for the reply virgin1
My tech and I were also leaning in that direction.
The MAF is just an air flow sensor and basically just some electronics right?
If this is true, why would it take awhile to start acting up? Just curious.
Would you recommend a new MAF or can a used one be installed from a junk yard?
Also, looking at the MAF, is this a 30 minute replacement job for a back yard mechanic?
Thanks again

A <10 min backyard job. But be careful, they are delicate. Keep it clean and do not knock it around.
Usually you can get a rebuilt one for about 1/2 cost of new.
