Default Fuel System check valve

I have a 2008 b3000. The fuel pump check valve is not working. I don't want to replace the fuel pump. Has anyone installed a check valve in the fuel line? If you have, could you share how you did it. Where did you install it and what materials did you use?

I now know that the fuel system is the "non return type". There is one line going to the fuel rail and no return line to the gas tank. I see though that there are two lines from the tank to the fuel filter. If the second line is a "return" line. My question is.....can I install the check valve in the line that goes from the tank to the filter?
