Default carb to fuel injection?

does anyone know how difficult it would be to swap in one of the early fuel injected engines into a carburated truck? My 87 b2000 just crapped out the motor and i need a replacement. It has the original 2.0 FE that came in it and since the 2.2 is very similar from what i hear i figured i wouldnt be that hard to swap over maybe with some extra parts. If anyone knows let me know or would it be just as hard to drop in a v8.

it might be easier to drop in a v-8. Some older chrysler mini vans used mitisubishi made motors, My '87 b2600 had a mitsubishi made motor but it turned out to be junk so I put a 4.3 chevy in it .
