Default wont start after swap

Hey guys got what I'm sure is a very small issue but I cant figure it out.I swapped out my stock 2.0 in my 93 mx-6 as it had 258,000 miles and was beginning to come apart. It was replaced with a 94 2.0 from a ford probe with the same 8th digit and number cross reference matching engine. It only has 45,000 and when I completed the swap I changed out all of the sensors and switches on the engine to stock mazda equipment as obviously the ford ones were quite different except the water temp sensor which is the same stock number part. The car will only start if the EGI is disconnected and you can only rev it to 1350 rpm's as at that point it needs the egi to mix air/ fuel.If the EGI is connected it wont start until you crank it over about 5 times then it starts revs to about 2500 rpms for 5 sec then shuts down and wont start again. You have to disconnect the EGI and you can play that game all day.I'm an accomplished mechanic with over 50 engine swaps from various makes and models and this is the first time I've been stumped.I'm sure someone out there knows exactly what this is and its probably simple as hell I just can't figure it out any thoughts?
