Default speedo cable hold-down screw

I just joined the forum today. Proud new owner of a 91 MX-6. I live in a very rural area, none of the few salvage yards have a similar model, so my parts access is limited. The only problem I can find on my "new" (286,000 miles) car is a missing hold-down screw for the speedo cable where it goes into the transaxle. Someone must have failed to tighten the screw properly when it was checked along the way somewhere. The nearest Mazda dealer is 130 miles away, the screw is $1.02, but the $4.29 postage for a single screw makes it a pretty expensive screw. The Mazda dealer couldn't or wouldn't give me the spec on the screw for thread size and length. Nothing in my motorcycle spares (metric) or junk screw can will fit it, and I don't want to take the chance of damaging the threads by continuing to try the wrong screw. Does anyone know the size of this screw, so I could replace it with a proper bolt, if possible? I have pretty big hands, it is in a truly difficult spot, and I can see how it got left loose during a check of the fluid along the way.

If it is anything like my 323, i'm sure it would be, it is bolt about a half inch long with a 10mm wrench head. (very common metric size) Not sure the thread pitch. It could be filled with dirt in the threads, so it might not go in easy, and hope someone in the past didn't break the bolt inside the transaxle.

You will need a bolt that is 6mm diameter with a 1.00 thread pitch. Length should be around 15mm.
