I have a 92 MX-3 and the passenger window motor assembly is not working. I looked at it yesterday and its the dampener rubber piece the interfaces between the worm gear/teflon gear drive that connects to the center shaft that rotates the spool that drives the cable up or down. The electronics are good, the motor is good, but I can't find a break down to replace just the inner rubber piece that turns the center shaft. So now the questions.

1) does any one know of a way to order or get a hold of this broken/deteriorated rubber piece? (also, I may not be able to tighten it enough with my hand tools, even if I can replace that, but I would like to weigh my options if some one knows how to get that part by itself)

2) The replacement motor is $125, but some one mentioned that they thought that the hardware of a Ford probe in that year range, or a MX6 in that year range may have compatible hardware parts. Does anyone know if this is true?

3) I did look at a handful of internet sales on salvage/used parts and I didn't find any that listed a 92 MX3 in their inventory, Does any one know the range of the MX3 that should work for parts usage on a 92 MX3?

Check RockAuto.com. When you select a part, you can then select the part number and it will show you all cars that part is intended for. Might tell you models with like-assemblies that you can pirate parts from.

Thanks for the info. Ya, looking like im Out of Luck, but I will keep looking. Check engine light came on and now told I need Distributor and Ignition Control Module. Between those 2 and window motor on Rockauto Im looking at just under$400. Car's worth about $800, Decision time
