I own a 93 mx3 racecar(dirttrack).I'mthinking of swapping out my drivetrain(1.5-5speed) with a1.8 from a 91 escort gt. Everything appears to be the same mountwise. The computer even has the same plugsand bolts in the same. The only thing that makes me think is that the wire colors differ. Does anyone know of anyonewho has donethis? The only reason for the swap is power. My car handles great. It just lacks when it comes to the straightaways. Thanks for the help..

 

Does anyone reply on this forum? Heres the update. Motor runs great. Had to swap out trans,could not use the fords trans. Swapped out starter,flywheel,and clutch.This was because of the cv axles had different splines and lenths.I even used the fords wiring harness all the way to the computer.Everything plugged up great except for the fuel lines. I had to make them work without leaks. Anyone want to see some pics? Let me Know.

 

The car was so fast,I spun out trying not to spin my teammate out. Then I flipped it once. The guy who filmed it said he will post it on Utube in a couple weeks. I'll let ya'll now when its up.

 

I won(by default)last night for the first time in the MX-3. Thekid who finished first hadthe wrong size tire on his car(65 series). The track makes us race 70's or bigger. Anyway hope to have my roll-over crash fromtwo weeks ago on utube soon.
