Mazda MX-3 and Mazda MX-6 These two sporty models have become popular cars for import tuners due to the availability of parts, the low price, and the smooth lines.

Default New to the club

Hey all, I just bought a little 1993 MX-3 today. Figured I'd say hi as I'll probably be asking questions, as she needs a bit of work. It was quite a cheap car, and you really don't see this one around here very much. This one has the V6.

Honestly I just needed a cheap car to drive around for the rest of the year that isn't summer. My old one got totaled last week by some new driver who didn't want to look where they were going. This one fit the bill, as all the "newer" cheap cars I was looking at just didn't feel fun to drive. Newer car clutches are lame. This one was also cheaper, but it needs a bit of work to get it to where I want it. Basically, CV joint, a bit of front end suspension stuff, and a new window switch. Really need a new switch, as the window is down slightly, lol.

One thing I did want to ask, what sort of temperature is normal for the gauge to be at in these cars? I noticed mine was a bit above half on the way home, though no where near overheating I do like my cars running at optimal temperature. I'm gonna check all the fluids tomorrow morning, I couldn't do much while it was light today as I had to work.

So far I really like the car though, the tiny V6 engine sure sounds sweet, and I haven't even revved it up past 4000rpm yet! (wanted to check fluids and stuff first)
