NEED HELP!! 93 MX6
Hi im new, i dont own a Mazda, but i help my friend work on their 93 MX6 with the 2.5 V6 in it....the problem is the alarm is messed up and we want to disconnect it. its not an aftermarket alarm, and we cant find it!! where is this thing or how can i disable it?!?!
IF THEIR PROBLEM WITH THE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM OCCURS AFTER LOCKING AND ALARMING THE SYSTEM, WHEN USING THE
KEY TO UNLOCK EITHER DOOR, THE DOORS UNLOCK BUT THE ALARM IS ACTIVATED. THIS IS CAUSED BY WATER OR CONDENSATION ENTERING THE DOOR LOCK CYLINDER AND CORRODING THE MICRO SWITCH. USUALLY IT ONLY ONE SWITCH
MALFUNCTIONS, IF YOU'RE INTERSTED REPAIRING, THE DOOR PANEL & DOOR LOCK CYLINDER HAVE TO BE REMOVED. PLUS A
COPY OF THE SERVICE BULLETIN WHICH SHOWS THE REPAIR PROCEDURE & USE OF DI-ELECTRIC GREASE TO SEAL SWITCH.
THE LOCATION OF THE THEFT-DETERRENT CONTROL UNIT IS WITHIN THE CPU, WHICH IS MOUNTED TO THE JOINT BOX BEHIND
THE DRIVER'S SIDE KICK PANEL. PULLING CPU WILL KILL THE ALARM HOWEVER EIGHT TO NINE OTHER SYSTEMS WILL BE
AFFECTED.
I'LL POST AGAIN IN A DAY OR TWO; HAVE TO GET MY HANDS ON MY WIFE'S 626ES AND PULL IT APART TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
THE MAZDA ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING MANUAL SHOW THE CONTROL UNIT AS PART OF THE CPU. THE WIRING DIAGRAM
MANAUL SHOW THE CONTROL UNIT WITH A SEPARATE CONNECTOR.
