MX-6 Quit and now won't start
While my son was home on leave from Iraq this fall, his1993 MX-6 diedin the middle of the road and wouldn't start.
When I arrived, I found that 1 of the plug wires had come off the bottom of the distributor. I assumed that was the problem. Connected the wire and it still wouldn't start.
Had it towed home and it has been in the garage since. He is due to backhome inFebruary and I would like to have it running when he gets here.
I replaced the Ignition Control Module. That wasn't the problem.
Could it have gotten out of time when the wire came loose and that is causing it not to start?
Possiblythe alternator?
Any and all help is appreciated.

RE: MX-6 Quit and now won't start
what engine?? 2.0 or 2.5 manual or auto trans??
no spark correct??distributor failures were not uncommon for both engines.
be sure to pull the oil fill cap and have someone crank the engine over, watch the cams to make sure
they are turning, if so a distributor assy would be my best guess (make sure to stick with mazda oe parts)
if the cams arent turning, check the timing belt

Part of my post didn't show up so I will try it again.
This is a 2.5L V-6 with a manual tranny. You are correct on the no spark.
I will pull the oil fill cap and check the cams this morning, then post the results.
