MX-3 v6 dies on idle and won't start only when hot.
Hello.
I desperately need some help diagnosing my issues with my 1994 MX-3 v6.
I bought the car two weeks ago supposedly in a "mechanically impeccable" state. But it is not. According to the previous owner, the ignition timing "might" be off, which I highly suspect it is, since it is having a LOT of misfiring, and a very rough idle (accompanied by an overall huge lack in power). The previous owner also mentioned the car had a previous distributor problem but that it was "fixed" and a new distributor was installed.
After further inspection, the spark plug cables are very damaged, with exposed metal in some cilinders, and the spark plugs themselves are pretty beaten up.
The car stutters a lot, has very little power, and has a very very rough idle. However, in ran.
Today, I decided to start work on the car (since I bought this car planning to do practically everything on it to learn about cars in general), and replaced the engine oil. I replaced the oil with Liquimoly 10w40 Oil with Ceratec additive (The oil type indicated in the manual is 10w30, however, the parts store assured me this oil would work fine and recommended it). I let the car idle for about 30 mins after replacing the oil, and after riding just about 300 meters, it stalled out when I depressed the clutch to stop for a stop sign, and would refuse to start back up until I waiting 40 minutes for it to cool down.
I am completely lost as to how to diagnose this issue being that it only happens when the car is hot (apparently). It happened twice today. The first time I thought it was out of fuel, and in the time I went to the station on foot and came back, it started, but I suspect its because it got cold and not because I added fuel.
Can someone help me and give their opinion as to what they think this is? Will this be potentially fixed when I replace the spark plug cables and spark plugs? When I adjust the timing? Did it really run out of gas and possible damaged the fuel system? How should I go about diagnosing the issue?
Thank you so much,
Tomás.
(I attach a video of it not starting when it stalled out hot.)

Update: I replaced the spark plug cables. The car started when I changed them but stopped working as soon as I closed the hood and now wont start back up.
I don't see a spark coming from the wires...
Could me closing the hood have disrupted the distributor somehow?
