I have a 1993 Mazda MX3 GS that has a 1.8 V6 with 140,000. The car will run and then just die and won't start and then later on after a while I will be able to get it started. Last night I was not able to get it started at all and then finally this afternoon after checking the distributor, rotor, spark plugs and spak plug wires, I was able to get it started but now it seems to be running a little rough. I did put some Heet into the fuel tank in case there is some water in the tank. It seems like most of these issues have started up since we started getting all of this wet weather this week. We had over 2" of rain in about 36 hours.
I have checked the distributor cap, spark plugs, the alternator and the battery and they all check out fine.
I had someone mentioning the spark plug wires but they don't look bad. I have also had folks mention the crankshaft sensor but I am not sure.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also, when I called the auto parts store, they said that there is not a manual available for that car in the Chiltons and I was wondering if someone might know what manual I could purchase that would work well for helping me to work on this car.
