The Impossible Fix
Hi everyone,
Hoping this fix is not impossible and someone here knows a solution.
I bought a 1993 Mazda MX-3 that had been engine swapped with a KLZE (2.5L v6) but the job wasn't fully finished. I bought it cranking but not starting and I figured it wouldn't take much to fix.
It now doesn't even crank and I haven't touched it. With keys in the ignition, the clock comes on and I'm able to use power windows, sunroof, and headlights. I get no instrument lights that come on though, nor can I hear any moving parts outside the cabin. I figure that even with keys in to start, some how no connection is being made to the engine bay.
What I've troubleshooted so far;
- Battery (works completely fine and all levels are sufficient)
- Spark plugs (newly replaced with exact copies)
- Clutch interlock (tested and it works)
- Fuses (no blown or faulty fuses)
- Starter motor (tested for power and is receiving from battery)
- New oil and filter
I am yet to test or troubleshoot the ignition. If anyone has any ideas that would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
