1993 MX3 1.6L M/T technical question
My mx3 has a vane air flow sensor, does anyone know if they made an upgrade or if you can upgrade to a MAF. I'm having issues with my vane flow sensor and have changed it out twice. If anyone has done a conversion please let me know what it entails. Thanks

What issues are you having?

Ok, car won't start unless coolant sensor is plugged in. Car wont go anywhere unless coolant sensor is unplugged. Have replaced coolant sensor twice with brand new ones. The code its showing says coolant sensor. Have checked all wiring, no bad wires. Have checked all vacume hoses, no problems there. Have replaced ECU. Am still looking for a reasonably priced air idle control valve. Going to replace TPS. The thing is sometimes the CEL will turn off on it's own with the coolant sensor unplugged and the car runs great unless it's a real hot day. I've checked all voltages to all sensors and checked all grounds. The car cuts out at 20% throttle and boggs out and will die unless you take foot off pedal. Then idle returns to normal. I have to turn the key off and on between gear changes to get car moving, it'll run ok till the check engine light turns on, once it comes back on the motor bogs until I turn the key off and on which seems to re set the computer temporarily. I'm trying to replace the sensors cheapest to most expensive. I was hoping that there was a upgrade on the vane airflow sensor to a mas airflow. But I guess there isnt.
