Default Power steering cooling pipe leak

Hi gang

I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem here? My 2004 MPV is leaking power steering from the cooler pipe just behind the front grill.

I can see that the aluminium pipe has a small hole and weeps red fluid but I can find very little information on how to get a replacement part and what the number is.

I found a Russian site which shows the part number as 32-470D or E but if I were to buy some pipe and make my own one up, does anyone here know what size it is?

There is a thread on a 323 forum where the guy used 12mm copper tubing to replace his rusty pipe but on another site it's listed as 10mm tubing.

Would love to hear from anyone that has done this little fix, I'm desperate to get my car back on the road and not pissing red fluid everywhere.

Cheers

I really don't know the answer. But: if you have a source that carries both diameters then you could take the pipe off and take it there to get the closest match.

Thanks Tan, I was trying to avoid removing the pipe until I get a new part, in case I need to move the car back into the road for any reason. Maybe I'll just buy 3 metres of both sizes of tubing.

Mazda dealers will have a listing for your car, otherwise go see a wrecker.

Funny thing is, Mazda dealers in Germany don't appear to sell parts, just cars. Howevefr, I have found a place that sell parts, provided all information to them but they aren't exactly forthcoming in their service. Part cost about 200 earth pounds too!

Still think I'm better off going the DIY route but a bit concerned about making tight and secure unions. I guess no-one on here has ever done this before, I'll be the first.

Cheers
