Default MPV Stalls when cruising.

2002 mpv stalls when cruising, almost feels like the ignition is cut. It always starts right back up. The only code was c1117 for Rpm input signal loss. In the past, the crank shaft sensor caused these symptoms with no codes.

i have changed crank sensor and cam sensor.
when using forscan, I monitored rpm, throttle position, maf, and they all seem to drop towards 0 when it stalls, the same as if I cut the ignition.

i tested fuel pressure while driving, and it seems ok. I did see it flicker, the same as an ignition.

im thinking it has something to do with the ignition, any ideas how to further test this or diagnose.

the van is my in laws, they don’t have much money, which is why I have done all their repairs.

prior to this issue, had to fix two ignition coils, along with valve cover gasket, leaking oil into spark plug holes, and upper intake manifold gasket.

any help or advise would be appreciated, it’s too dangerous for them to drive.

I would be trying the "Wiggle" test on your ignition switch.

I just ruled out the ignition. I used a jumper wire on ignition harness, so the ignition was hot, or essentially the key wouldn’t turn the car off, it still died. Thanks for the input.

it fully stalls the engine 2-3 times when driven cold, after it warms up it only hesitates. It always starts right back up. I was thinking pcm, it is under the glove box inside the car, so not affected by engine heat, but still could be electrical components behaving differently when warm.

Problem solved! The crankshaft position sensor wires were worn with some bare copper showing. Evidence of the wire loom touching the belt and chaffing. I separated the wires and taped them individually and no problems.
