Default MPV engine misfire /coil/ swapped harness

Hi everyone,

I'm having a dispute with a garage over some repairs. Trying to find additional information.

Basically, I went in with an engine misfire, caused by broken coil, the mechanic made an error when reconnecting the harness to the coil and swapped 2 of them, therefore engine was still misfiring. Then they found damage to the catalytic converter and post catalytic oxygen sensor after this error.

Here where i need help.
1. how frequently is there damage to the catalytic with a broken coil? If someone has a garage and could say something like 1 in x has damage to catalitic. (I've had 2 other incidents without catalytic damage)
2. swapped harness. Does anyone else have experience with swapped harness on the coil. this is quite rare and i haven't found good technical info on this.

Thanks everyone
