IMRC p1512 intake runner fix - bicycle cable
My IMRC cable broke causing check engine light, p1512 code. I bought a bicycle brake cable and filed the ferrule down so it fit in the imrc controller cable guide.
I also had to solder short jumper wires from the imrc connector to the circuit board since mazda made the stupid thing so hard to work on and flexing the circuit board away from the connector broke the pins away from the board. PITA. The connector is epoxied to the housing.
I cut the cable to length AFTER running it through the cable housing fearing frayed ends would make it bind. after removing all the intake crap along with the throttle body I used a simple cable screw clamp to secure the cable. This has been a great car but simple things like this **** me off. It's a cable. They break. It should be much easier to replace and you shouldn't have to replace the whole damned thing which is what is expected.
