Default IMRC p1512 intake runner fix - bicycle cable

My IMRC cable broke causing check engine light, p1512 code. I bought a bicycle brake cable and filed the ferrule down so it fit in the imrc controller cable guide.

I also had to solder short jumper wires from the imrc connector to the circuit board since mazda made the stupid thing so hard to work on and flexing the circuit board away from the connector broke the pins away from the board. PITA. The connector is epoxied to the housing.

I cut the cable to length AFTER running it through the cable housing fearing frayed ends would make it bind. after removing all the intake crap along with the throttle body I used a simple cable screw clamp to secure the cable. This has been a great car but simple things like this **** me off. It's a cable. They break. It should be much easier to replace and you shouldn't have to replace the whole damned thing which is what is expected.

Default Bicycle cable fix

The same thing happened with my 2001 Mazda MPV and I'm trying to find out the exact length the cable was. I replaced it with a bicycle cable and it seemed to be okay but then I found a piece of the broken cable later and I noticed that it was a lot longer than I had made it cuz I did not see the broken piece before. Do you have an exact length I need to make the cable? Cuz the one I replace it with is too short now and it's not opening the valve

Default Imrc cable length

I'm trying to fix the intake runner control module cable as well with the bicycle cable but I need to know the exact length of the cable. I found a broken piece of the cable after I replaced it and didn't realize it was longer than the one I replaced with does anybody know the exact length of the actual cable itself. ?
