Default Heater is not so HOT...

Hi,

I have a '97 MPV. The heater works, but it does not blow air nearly so hot as our '05 Sienna or my '07 Chev company truck. On cold days (below 0-Fairenheit) I have to run the heater on high all the timeto keep thecabin tolerable, and it never will get to 70-degrees inside. The temp gauge does make it's way up, but it stays in the lower half of the "Normal" range. Is this just the nature of the beast, or do you thinkI havea problem? [Prior to this I lived in TX andthis never was an issue.]

Also, Inoticed the vehicle calls for a 180-deg thermostat. I'm wondering if I could go with a hotter one? Newer vehicles tend to have 200-deg thermostats... Could this damage anything, or mess up the computer settings?

You can always put the hottest thermostat you buy in, doesn't hurt anything. Kevin where in MN are you? I am in Truman, MN, and have the only 97 All Sport for many many miles.

Zmanzke,

Well, you now have the only '97 All Sport for about 100 miles. I live in Stewartville which is just S of Rochester. Thanks for your input on thermostats!
