Default heater air is not hot in my 929

Anyone ever have problems with their heaters not working fully in Mazda 1993 929? I can run my 929 all day and unless it's warm outside, the heater air never really gets going. Only warms slightly, at best. Suggestions? Thanks!

Default RE: heater air is not hot in my 929

There is the biggest possibility of a thermostst problem. Does the engine temp run about half way up the gauge when hot? If not, then a thermostat is in order. Another thing to check on, but less likely is a partially clogged heater core. If the engine temp is good, feel the heater hoses to see if they are hot. If so, then you would have a problem with the air mix doors under the dash in the airbox.
