Why would you need the engine #? I would think you need the vehicle VIN# for registration, your MPV may or may not have the engine that originally came with it.
The VIN# can be found if you look through the frontwindshield from the outside, at the lower corner of the driver's side of the glass. There is a black-out section that should have a rectangular window that you can see the VIN# through. The VIN# plate is attached to the firewall of the vehicle.

I remember someone else asking for engine # for some kind of registration a while back. Maybe in Australia or something. Thought it was maybe for theft of some other ID purpose. Odd anyway.
On 2000 and later MPV the engine number is located below the oil filter. On 98 and earlier the number is down below the distributor on both the 4 cyl and V6.
