Hi I have a 2004 MPV.

I notice if the car is not parked on flat ground, for example parked up against a curb that slopes away slightly, then on auto, the left hand sliding door will close then re-open by itself. It won't stay closed until I get the car on flat ground. What;s causing this? I have tried cleaning the door copper or brass contacts but no diff

 

I have that issue on my 2005 MPV on the drivers side sliding door. When you press the close button it will go almost closed but then re-opens. What we do is keep your hand on the door handle and when it gets about 6" away from closing, manually close the door by slamming it closed and it will latch and stay closed.
