Default Trunk Problem

This is a 2002 Mazda Millenia 2.5
When I try to open my trunk by pressing the button on the door it won't open. The only way I can open it is by using the remote control or by using the key. The fuel door button next to the trunk button works.

So does anyone know why the trunk button doesn't work and how can i fix it?

Default RE: Trunk Problem

It's the trunk lock actuator located on the trunk latch in the trunk ofcourse.
Call a local salvage yard. Check your dealer for there price first so you'll know if your getting a good deal.
A good used price for this item shouldnt be anymore than $30.00.

Be sure it works before leaving the salvage yard, ask if you can plug it into your car first.

i dont think so. if the actuator was bad, then the remote would not open the trunk. the remote has to trip the actuator, and it is. i would suspect the switch itself, or possibly a broken wire coming off the switch. diagnose the problem before you go throwing parts at it.

I figured out the problem guys!

I accidently fliped the trunk switch in the glove compartment and my trunk was disabled. I fliped it back on and everthing is fine now.
I'm gonna have to check the manual cause i don't remember seeing that in there otherwise i would have figured it out.

Thank you for your help guys
