Rear brake pads

Rear brake pads
Hello all, How hard is it to R&R the rear brake pads on my 97 Millenia? I just had the front ones done two weeks ago and the tech failed to mention that the rear pads were getting a little thin(same thickness as a Kleenex) and I was wondering if they can be replaced without pulling the axle, rear seat, stereo system, etc. Or if they can just slide in like on my old MGB. I broke my ankle a few weks ago and it gets real painfull if I am not careful and bend it in a certain way.
Regards,
Richard

RE: Rear brake pads
Richard,
I know that I've done this at least twice on ours. However, I cannot recall if I had to make any tools or such .. (??)
I can only offer what I remember;
The rear brakes are two piece. A) Pad & caliper B) drum and piston
The main rear brakes are your typical pad & caliper. Easy enough to do with a large C clamp and remove two caliper mounts. Although no bleeding is typically required, I always try to "flush" out some of the fluid. (on a dry day)
The parking brake is a drum & piston style and not required for normal operations. Again, I would suggest pulling the rotor off to view the condition of these. If you cannot easily remove the caliper to do this, consider purchasing a new set first. (I've had to maul a rotor off once)
g'luck - they're not that difficult
