Default need help

hello there, im working on a 98 nonsupercharged millenia for a friend of mine. the problem is theres a, i guess short, or malfunction in the gear select sensor somewhere so she cant get it started. i played with the select lever while its in park and if you find the sweet spot voila, hey look it works. so my question is, before i start to tear her car apart, is the gear select sensor located on the lever inside the center console or is it on the transmission itself. any info would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

maybe the transmissoin range sensor will sound more familliar to someone. i checked the ecu's DTC and amongst the other codes this sensor is the one causing her no start problems(PO705). now back to the original question, does anyone know where the transmission range sensor is located?

both codes are for front rh bank oxygen sensor. the 0134 is no activity-it's dead. 1170 is inversion-input voltage above .45 v after engine reaches operating temps. right bank is the one closest to the firewall. however, this dont necessarily mean the sensor is bad. sensors dont die on their own, something kills them. so, if you change it, and the code(s) come back after a short time, you might have way bigger problems. for example, too much fuel can easily kill a sensor.

Sorry about that, I was in the gray when i asked that question. Keninn cleared it up. I was thinking the codes were two seperate errors, but apperantly its two codes for the same thing. When i pulled the DTC's they read: PO134 O2 Sensor CKT no activity (bank 1 sensor 1); P1170 Man. cntrl fuel air metering. I was thinking the P1170 was the air flow(not fuel like i mistyped)meter.
