I installed an in-dash tv/dvd/cd player in my 99 mazda millenia. The monitor opens up, everything powers on. I put the cd in and it says the cd is playing but no music is coming out of the speakers. I even bought a 4 channel premium sound line output converter, 80w max and still no music comes out. Does anyone know how to fix this problem, or whhat color the bose amp turn on wire is?

 

the bose system has individual amps for each speaker, and the impedance is way different. you have to change out the speakers to non bose.

 

So there is no possible way to get it to work without changing the speakers?

 

Bonito: Just ante up the money and get some decent kenwoods or pioneers from CC or best buy and have them install. It's worth the money for the sparing of the headache. :-)

 

the money you would spend on a signal converter or whatever it is (if it exists) would offset the money you'd spend on new speakers to have them installed. Plus, youbuy the 3yr warranty and if anything goes bad they take care of it.

If you REALLY want to try somethign stupid, you could take the positive and negative leads to each bose speaker, and if you have 2 sets of pre-amp outputs on the back of your new head unit, solder the positive leads of each speaker to the male post of a RCA connector and the negative to the outside prongs and hook them up to see if they work.
That would PROBABLY help for getting the audio to the speakers. But for powering the amplifiers, it may be a different story. Try finding a wire that doesn't look like a speaker wire, turn your new head unit on, after you've done soldering job above, and 1. see if that wire is live. 2. if it is not, look for one that is. 3. find one that is. 4. if you can't find one that is, find a ground and ground a 9v battery and then brush mystery wires on the positive duracell lead. see if that kicks the speaker amps on... similar to how your head-unit does for an external amplifier. If that works, it MAY be possible to connect your amp turn-on wire to that wire to click-on your in-speaker amps
