igniton problem..

Default igniton problem..

my millenia just died the other day going down the road and i took it to some idiot at a shop and he told me that the ditributor was shot... but i put a new cap and rotor button on it and it started right up.... but now it is out of time because the dumbass took the whole thing out .... can anyone please tell me how to get the thing back in time????? need help i have to get the car going asap!! thanks for any feedback

As i recall it only goes in one way. They were notorious for eating distributors and destroying catalytic converters.

i know the distributor only goes in one way ... so are you saying that the ignition is timedby the ecu not the angle of ths dist.?? and could it just eb the ignition module and not the whole damn dist.???

When these cars have ignition/spark problems it usually results in catilytic converter problems. An exhaust restriction which causes loss of power among other things. Check the converters for partial restriction. Bang on the rear converter. If you hear something rattle inside it probably needs a distributor and converter. They usually go hand in hand.
