Default CV axles / ABS light?

I have posted before with heater issues on this car. I still don't have that resolved, but now I have a new issue - yippee!

I had both CVs replaced. When we fired it up after everything got put back together the ABS light and TCS light were on. Mechanic says he did not disconnect ABS sensors so he doesn't know how it could be throwing a code. It does look like the sensor on the driver side is closer that the passenger one - is that normal? Also, there is now a funky noise coming from the shifter box when I put it in park or apply the brake with it in park. This 01 milly S has 115k on it.
