I have a 2002 Mazda Millenia, LTD, which was purchased new and has only 40,500 actual miles..always well taken care of with no problems..that is until yesterday..It's my wife's car and she drives daily to work Mon thru Fri approximately 50 miles per day, never exceeding 50 miles per hour..yesterday, I drove her car on a 200 mile trip at speeds of over 80 miles per hour..went arriving home, the check engine light came on..I have an appointment tomorrow to get it checked..my question is: could driving at a higher than normal speed have caused the check engine light to come on and what should I expect the technician to find as being the solution? still runs perfectly, just has the CEL on....thanks from the bluegrassstate..

 

no one can answer this until you get it scanned, and find out what the code(s) are. when you take it to wherever, make SURE you get a copy of all the codes that are pulled.
