I have a 95 Mazda Millenia with 2.5L engine. I made an mistake and reversed the polarity when jumping the vehicle. First the car wouldn't start and the dash lights stayed on with the key out of the ignition, so I cleaned the ground that is connected to the negative side of the battery. It started, but the lights still stays on and it keeps running with the key out of the ignition. I changed the switch and had the alternator check(tested good). Only way I turned the car off is by pulling the EGI Relay (Yellow One) and one time pulled the connector from the MAF sensor. Only code i get is P1000. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

 

Update...tested all the relays...changed the switch and the alternator (bad diodes)...still same problem...cleaned some grounds only the ones that is directly connected to the battery. Only can get the car to cut off by pulling the EGI Relay or pull the engine fuse.
Dash lights still stay on when key is not in the ignition and car will not cut off. I am thinking a bad ground somewhere. What do you suggest?
