you definitely want to get that checked. any fault in the SRS sytem can cause your bags to inadvertently blow dues to a bad signal somewhere or lack of one. i say go to the stealership because this is a safety issue.

Default Blinking Air Bag Light

Do these "codes" apply to all years/models? I have 2006 MX-5 that blinks the air bag light twice with long pauses and then 2 quick blinks. Is that to be read as 22 or 112? It had stopped all summer, but now it's back.

This thread has been very helpful! My 2002 Milly's airbag light had been blinking for several months. When I figured out from this thread what the blinking code meant (three long, seven short which I figured meant that there was a power supply circuit problem in the passenger side) I took the advice of one of the other posts and made sure the connections under the passenger seat were secure. No more light! It's been out for a few days now, so I think that did the trick. Thanks folks!
