Default 2001 Millenia Front door panel removal

Does anyone have detailed instructions on removing the front door panels of the 2001 Millenia S. I am trying to replace my speakers... Thank you!!!!

Also, the trunk release button on the driver's door doesn't work and also the gas tank release works intermittantly. Bad switch? Is this common?

Couple of drawings below to help get the front door panels off.
Check the trunk lid opener cancel switch in the glove box and make sure it did not get turned on accidently. Small toggle switch. The fuel doors sometimes get stuck if the catch on the filler led gets bent a little by the gas jockeys. Try bending the catch slightly away from the release pin. This often is a reliable fix.

Overview of door trim removal. Start by removing the 3 screws shown on the right side of panel, the sail garnish trim, and inner handle cover.

This shows location of clips that holding door panel on. Pull straight out on edges of door untill all are released. Do not pull out center of panel or will break.

Once all clips on edge of door are release lift straight up about 1-2 inches, then remove electrical connectors and finally door panel

These metal clips are a bugger to get out of door trim panel but need to be removed and installed onto the door itself.

This shows where those metal clips have to go back to. Make sure to install just like the pic and not upside down.

Default 2001 mazda millenia door panel

Dear BabyHuey- I have just now registered to 'mazdaforum' .
I am hunting for a replacement driver door interior panel for my son's 2001 Millenia. Could you offer any suggestions ? Also, I want to know how to access the pix [GIF]'s in your post, showing panel removal steps. Thanks.

I don't think you'll get a response from babyhuyey. It looks like his last visit to this site was about 3 years ago.

To find a door panel for your son's Millenia, you might want to search some local junkyards - or some on-line junk yards - just search for them on Google. If you put in the details of what you're asking for, you'll get responses from a dozen or so yards along with prices.

Default Milenia door panel

Thanks for the follow-up, 2t2. I have done as you suggested, several times. I just need to keep at it, until I find one close enough that I can go see the panel and pick it up. I got a hit in SC yesterday, for $50. The guy could not guarantee condition, so I did not wish to pay the $75 shipping on a gamble.

Here's a link to a '96 Millenia being parted out. Not sure which year you're looking for. I'm not sure of the interior color of this vehicle, though.
