2000 Mazda Millenia 2.5L Instrument Cluster
I bought a 2000 Millenia recently and had to replace the distributer. After it was replaced, I noticed my instrument cluster fuse kept blowing(Not sure if this is related, but the cluster was fine before I replaced the distributer). I replaced the dimmer hoping it was just a bad switch, but the problem still persists. Tail lights are fine and working, radio hasn't been touched, however it is after market. Any ideas? I am going to take it all apart, change bulbs, etc but I figured I'de ask around for any input before going in blind.
There is a lot on that circuit. Aside from the hl switch there is a panel light control module, glove box light, seat warmer switch's cruise control and fog light switch illumination. I would probably start by pulling the radio and see if it blows fuses then. It would not be uncommon for the seat warmer switch's to have had something spilled on them given their location. I don't see a way for a distributor replacement to have caused it but it is a possibility i suppose. Have a look at it and see if any wires are pinched. Everything is connected in one way or another through various modules. The hl switch has other connectors you can disconnect one at a time to isolate the circuit a bit more.
