Default 02 milly flooding out after 45 seconds

Hi everyone! Anyone know if a Ho2s bank 1, sensor 1, circut fixed could cause my milly to flood out after about 45 seconds after startup? I could really use some help here. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Changing O2 sensor should not flood your engine. What are the signs of your flooded engine? Could be leaky injectors or high fuel pressure caused by bad fuel pressure regulator. Could also be long open signal from the PCM but less likely. I replaced both bad O2s on my Milly without the trouble you describe.

Thanks for the reply. I changed the pressure regulator but still have the same problem. If I start the car and get out and put a gulf tee behind the throttle to up the rpms then the engine will run but will die if I try to idle it down. It will not restart unless the engine drys out. The plugs are soaked if you pull them out. I have codes P0300 (random misfire) and p1170 manf cont fuel air metering. I previously had code po325 (engine knock sensor #1 circut malfunction bank 1 or sensor 1) I messed with the conector on the knock sensor and got the po325 code the go away after clearing it out. The car has been sitting for a long time now with this problem. I put a fuel stablizer in the gas tank to keep the fuel from going bad. Any suggestions form anyone out there will be greatly appreciated.

what has been done to this car? did it all of a sudden run rich? part of the idle problem is the random miss. 1170 is heated o2 sensor, you probably killed the sensor because of all the excess fuel. one of the problems is running it at high rpms, and with the random miss, fuel is not being burned, so the plugs are being fouled. again, what happened to make it not run?

First of all I want to thank you for the reply. It all started when I blew a head gasket on the right head, #3 cylinder. Water leaked into the piston and pressure blew it out through the intake manifold and out the coolant reserve. I changed the head gaskets and all the belts, put a new throttle body gasket in and new intake gaskets. Replaced the pressure regulator, distributor cap and rotor. I've tried moving the distributor forward and back, but made little difference. I did pull the egr valve off when I changed the head gasket. It has two coolant hoses going to it side by side one has a red dot on it . I connected it to the right and the other to the left. Hope I got it right. The car did run and Idle before I changed the gaskets, just missed a lot. I do remember spraying gumout cleaner on the ends of the rear and front pre cat ho2s sensors to try and clean the antifreeze off that was going out the exhaust. Hope I didn't damage them to the point that it's causing my problem. I checked the mas air flow sensor and looks real clean, not much carbon build up in the throttle body either. There is a vacuum line that comes out on top of the throttle and goes to a sensor on the rear of the intake. Another line connects to the sensor and I believe it goes to the gas tank. I think this could be the purge controll lines, not absolutly sure. Does the vacuum line form the intake just behind throttle body go the the top or bottom of the sensor? I don't want to get these lines turned around because I've head thy can cause a flooding problem. Thanks again for any help on this.

Recently, my battery ran low and I jumped the car. It wouldn't start. I checked the sparks, it was sparking. I checked the fuel pump and it was pumping. Didn't understand why it wouldn't start. I sprayed starter fluid into the PCV port on the intake and still nothing. Sprayed more and still nothing. I was stumped. Took out the plugs and they were soaked. Pulled them all out and let the engine dry up. Put the plugs back in and it fired up in a sec. I had to jump the car again at later occasions but no problems with starting. Don't know why it didn't start that one day. Was it because it was flooded? Since I sprayed fluid in it, I can't say if it was already flooded or if I flooded it. Never before or after did it give me a problem with starting.

Gotta really make sure that it dries out. Partial dry out will flood it up quickly.
