Just got my NB miata 3 weeks ago. Noticed a couple of things recently:

- there is a loud whistling sound every now and then when the engine is on. It is not a continuous but a sudden whistle. anyone knows what the cause is?

- the soft top sometimes gives a rattling sound when it is up. Is that normal?

 

is this a automatic if not check the clutch push it in and see if it goes away if so it could be the through out bearing
