Default Supercharger Questions

Does anyone have any info or advice on supercharging a Miata ? I have a 2000 with 55K miles and a manual trans. I am considering installing a supercharger.

Thanks,
Mike

your car sounds like a prime candidate for supercharging.

Is the Jackson Racing setup the way to go ? or is there a better setup out there ? I want to be smog legal. Also, does the kit come complete, or will I have to piece it together ?

Thanks again,
Mike

it looks like either kit, the vf or the jr, would be smog legal and complete. it all matters what you want to push hp wise. the vf kit uses the vortech compressor which is easily modified to push more power, but the jackson uses an oem style compressor that is much harder to modify. if you want to just set it and forget it, go with the jackson. if you want to tune and modify after the install, go with the vf.

I'vebeen told a little abouta FastForward supercharger. Any input on this manufacturer ? Also, which is better, Hotside or coldside ? I believe the Jackson Racingis hotside.I am leaning towards the Jackson Racing SC. It seams to be simple and reliable. I don't want to sacrifice reliability. I've also read a little about a charger from Fliing Miatas. Any input on these ?

Well, I solved my power issue. As much as I liked the little Miata, I traded it in on a 2007 convertable Corvette. Can't beet that 400 + horsepower feel. And it handles like a dream.
