Spare in trunk?

I'm a new Miata owner - 2008 MX5 GT with OEM 205/45R17 tires and wheels. I didn't want run flats but I hate the idea of not having a spare. My question is: will a full size tire mounted on a wheel fit in the trunk? I know I could try it myself, but I'm hoping someone else has already gotten the answer <G>. Thanks.
