Well, overfilling the Oil Pan allows the oil to rise to a level where the lobes on the crank actually slap into the oil. This can cause harmonic vibrations and stress on the Main Bearings.

It will usually also raise the Crankcase pressure and could push the seals out.

Is it leaking out of an output seal? either at the crank pulley or into the transmission?

If so, the fix is easy but time consuming and thus expensive. The part is $5.00 but you basically have to remove the motor to get at them.

They will not fix themselves, there is no magic liquid that will seal them, they simply have to be replaced if they are leaking.

That's a well established way of wrecking an engine. Add to to Brian MP5T's above list bending of connecting rods and crystalline impact microfractures of the pistons at the wrist pins. Not such a cheap fix.
