Oil pressure reading
I have a new to me 2010 Grand touring with 225,000 miles, automatic trans. At idle in gear the oil gage reads 2-3 lines over low. While driving the gage reads at least half or a little higher. I installed a new oil pressure sender Beach are the old one leaked. The reading is the same with the new sender. Is this a normal reading for this engine?
The correct method for testing oil pressure is to install a remote mechanical gauge to verify results.

Yes, thank you. After 30 years in dealership service departments, I am aware of your recommendation. However the response I was looking for was another Miata owner that might have the same reading as I do.
My Wife's 14 GT will run close to LO at idle when the engine is really hot. I'm not sure if it's normal, in fact, it's kind of scary. I haven't had a shop ever look at it. It runs fine and the pressure stays up under all other conditions.
Thanks I'll see if I can find the oil pressure specs
The oil pressure switch is removed on the oil filter housing, that's where the manual gage is attached
