rmv the carpet on the shef behind the seats (were the top sits when lowered). rmv the metal cover. you can then get to the fuel tank/pump under. make sure you get new gaskets, lube them with eng oil to keep them from getting pinched when replacing. good luck.

Thanks for the input. bought a new fuel pump from autozone (bosch, lifetime) for $200.
Then paid Pep Boys to install it. First quoted $68 labor. Ended up $270. A nightmare.
seems to be working now.
