I have a 99 Miata. I have some questions about the running of my car:
1.) The check engine light is on with a code description of something about emissions, with low air intake... how severe is that?
2.) Whenever my car is idling, sometimes it goes down to 500 RPMs and then back up to under 1000 RPMs... what could cause that?
3.) How much does it cost to repaint the front end of a miata?
4.) My car sometimes squeaks, and the sound comes from the left front of the car... what could cause that?

What is the code number that is being stored hanichj? Could very well be related to the idle dip and then surge. Code should start with letter P and then followed by 4 numerical digits.
No idea what it would cost to repaint. Not in the bodyshop business. Will depend more on where you go.

 

Some possible causes of your squeak are the mazda tie rod ends, lower ball joints, sway bar bushings and lower control arm bushings or worn sturts. try to check on these things. As the costs of repaint - prices varies to the shop where your are going to bring your car to have it done.
